Need some motivation?

We are almost a week into the New Year! How are your resolutions going? Do you need some oils to help motivate you to get them done? Maybe you need a little boost to help you get to the gym after work, or get up early to check out that sunrise yoga class? Maybe your goal is to just get out of bed without hitting snooze 10 times. Don’t worry, we got an oil to help you with that!

Here are some of my favourite oils and oil blends to help feel that extra motivation!

Peppermint

This is one of my go to oils for getting sh*t done! I love the smell of peppermint and find it so energizing and refreshing. Just smelling it (even from the bottle) gives you a sense of clarity and motivation. Try keeping a bottle of this beside the bed to have a quick smell of in the morning to help give you that extra push to get out of bed!

Wild Orange

Otherwise known as the oil of abundance, this oil (which is also the product of the month – ask me how to get it free before the 15th of the month!) is perfect for helping you get off on the right foot with your resolutions. Powerful and delicious smelling citrus, who doesn’t love this. Diffuse with peppermint to help motivate you or even mix the two together in a roller bottle and rub on when you start feeling tired to help you power through!

Clove

The spicy tones of clove make it a great oil to help motivate and uplift you. This oil will also help to protect you from some unwanted germs that may prevent you from completing your resolutions. Diffuse this with a drop of wild orange and a drop of cinnamon or cassia in your office to power through filing away all those papers you meant to last year.

Cinnamon Bark & Cassia

Not only delicious and cleansing, these oils are powerful at helping to create an uplifting aroma. Try one drop of cinnamon bark in your tea in the morning to help you get your day started off on the right foot!

Black Pepper

I don’t know what I did without this oil before. So amazing with one drop added in a diffuser blend with cinnamon, orange and bergamot. This oil is a powerful motivator, and also really good for helping to support your immune system as well.

Cheer

I literally do not leave the house without my roller bottle of Cheer. Feeling that 3PM crash? Cheer has you covered. Got a case of the Monday (or any day) Blues? Cheer has your back. Roll on your back of neck, and pulse points on your wrist and instantly feel a bit more motivated and cheerful!

Motivate

I mean the name says it all. This blend is literally designed to motivate you. Roll it on, diffuse it, and get that to do list checked off. This is my morning diffuser blend to help get me out the door, and for those days I need that extra bit of motivation add 1 drop of each cinnamon and black pepper in the diffuse with it.

See you soon!

Frankincense and the Brain

This week we aren’t going to have specific recipe days, because frankincense is such a powerhouse oil it serves some really important purposes for health benefits. Today I want to talk about how frankincense can help support the brain and brain function.

As we know the brain is very complex and is by far the most important and vital organ in the human body. The brain plays an important role in managing and directing all other organs, nervous systems, and body processes – it essentially controls everything your body does. Essential oils can powerfully impact and benefit the brain and how it functions day to day. When essential oils are used aromatically (diffusing or inhaling) the oils are directly accessing the brain through the olfactory bulb and therefore have the fastest physical and emotional responses from the brain.

Frankincense is one of the top oils for helping to support the brain and brain function due to the specific chemical compounds the oil is comprised of.

So today we are going to talk about a couple of remedies comprised of frankincense and a mix of other essential oils to help support brain function.

Brain Haze Buster (roller bottle recipe)

Ingredients:

  • 10 – 15 drops doTERRA frankincense essential oil
  • 10-15 drops doTERRA cedarwood essential oil
  • 10-15 drops doTERRA patchouli essential oil
  • 10-15 drops doTERRA sandalwood essential oil
  • 10-15 drops doTERRA vetiver essential oil
  • 1 roller bottle
  • doTERRA fractionated coconut oil

Instructions:

  1. Put essential oils into roller bottle, top off with coconut oil. Shake well to mix.
  2. Roll onto the back of neck to help enhance circulation to the brain and help to promote a more alert state.

Focus Blend

While studying of trying to focus try diffusing 1-2 drops doTERRA Melissa essential oil, frankincense essential oil, and patchouli essential oil.

You can also put this on the bottoms of your feet, base of the skull, and under the tounge twice daily to help support focus and cognitive function.

Frankincense has also been shown in many studies to help with Alzheimer’s, autism, brain injuries, Parkinson’s, seizures, and dementia. When used in the right protocols this oil can have powerful healing benefits to help provide a better quality of life and reduce the impact of some of these conditions.

Blend of the day: Tea Tree

Tea Tree oil is an oil that I honestly just started learning how to diffuse a couple months ago. I used to totally avoid putting it in the diffuser because I hated the smell. But when you combine it with the right mix of oils it adds a very fresh and purifying scent. Here are some of my favourite ways to use Tea Tree oil in the diffusers at home.

Let me know what you think of these blends or if you have some favourite recipes for diffusing Tea Tree.

This week our blends are all featuring peppermint. I have several really great blends for you! Now as you may remember from previous blends of the day, there are lots of other ways to use peppermint, such as headache relief, and allergy relief! Peppermint can also be used in blends to smell fresh and clean, or uplifting and energizing.

There are so many great ways to use it in diffusing. What are some of your favourite blends?
