Thirsty Thursdays, maybe a thing you once did back in your youth and college days, now a tradition you can carry forward and use essential oils for. These recipes are non-alcoholic but will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed!
Lavender Lemonade (as found in Thug Kitchen, plus a few alterations)
Ingredients:
- 5 cups water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 6-10 lemons, freshly squeezed
- 1 lime, freshly squeezed
- 5 drops doTERRA lavender essential oil
- 1 sprig fresh lavender, optional
- 3 drops doTERRA lemon oil, optional/ to taste
Instructions:
- Bring water to a boil in a medium sized pot. Reduce to medium heat.
- Add sugar to the pot and let simmer on medium for about 5 minutes. Stir regularly.
- Remove from heat. Add juice from freshly squeezed lemons and lime. Stir in.
- Add 5 drops of lavender essential oil and fresh sprig of lavender (optional). Stir in.
- If you would like a stronger lemon taste you can add drops of doTERRA lemon oil to taste.
- Chill in fridge.
- Serve garnished with fresh lemon slices and fresh lavender.
- Enjoy!
Lavender Infused Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
- 1 package of your favourite instant hot chocolate
- 2-3 drops of doTERRA lavender oil
Instructions:
- Follow the instructions on instant hot chocolate mix to make your hot chocolate.
- Before serving add 2-3 drops of lavender (to desired taste). Mix well
- Enjoy!
* You can use any of your favourite essential oils to add flavour to your hot chocolate. Some of my personal favourites are wild orange, or peppermint!
