Oil of the Week: Oregano

Good morning! This week we are going to talk about an oil that I feel is often the gateway oil to essential oil use. I can pretty much guarantee that all of you have used or at the very least heard of oregano oil. Growing up in my house this was the go to oil anytime someone even had a sniffle to help prevent colds from getting worse. Oregano has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. But oregano is SO MUCH MORE than that, it is also a powerful cleaner and a great oil for spicing up recipes. I cant wait to help you explore this oil this week!

Oregano is amazing because not only is it anti-viral, it is also anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, and is considered an immunostimulant. But aside from its powerful healing powers, oregano is also an amazing oil to cook with!

So lets check out doTERRA’s video about oregano!

Like mentioned in the video, oregano oil is VERY powerful so you do need to be cautious about how you use it especially because of how pure this oil is from doTERRA. But this oil is one of my favourites and actually lives in my kitchen because of all the fun things you can use it in cooking for!

Okay so what are some of the best uses for oregano oil you ask? I got you covered! Check out some of the uses below!

  • Oregano oil makes a powerful cleaner! Just add some drops to a spray bottle of water, and clean away!
  • Adding 1-2 drops to a veggie capsule can help to support healthy respiratory function. *
  • Taking 1 drop daily in a veggie capsule can help to support a healthy immune system. *
  • Great for cooking!
  • Oregano helps to support healthy digestion. *
  • Acts as a purifying oil when diffused – caution should be taken and only a maximum of 1-2 drops used.

So who is excited to learn about this powerful oil?

Until tomorrow,

Blend of the day: Tea Tree

Tea Tree oil is an oil that I honestly just started learning how to diffuse a couple months ago. I used to totally avoid putting it in the diffuser because I hated the smell. But when you combine it with the right mix of oils it adds a very fresh and purifying scent. Here are some of my favourite ways to use Tea Tree oil in the diffusers at home.

Let me know what you think of these blends or if you have some favourite recipes for diffusing Tea Tree.

See you tomorrow,
