Lavender Recap

Well, today is the last day we are spending with lavender for now. So I am sure you have found some great ways to use this oil and enjoyed some benefits from it. Did you try any recipes? Make any of your own? What were your favourite ways to use the oil.

Because its our last day using this oil, and it is summer, I wanted to share with you one final recipe that you will want to keep on hand in the summer months. Next time you get a bit too much sun and start to feel irritation, spray this on for some quick relief.

Recipe of the Day: Soothing Sleep Salve & Pillow Spray

As you are probably very aware of by now, lavender has a very relaxing and soothing aroma to it. So it is a great aid to use in promoting a restful night sleep. You can rub lavender directly onto the bottom of your feet to help you sleep but I really like these two easy recipes to keep by the bed at night.

Soothing Sleep Salve

Super easy to make and takes less than 2 minutes you will want to keep a jar of this by your bed for at night.

Ingredients:

  • Glass mason jar
  • 1/2 cup semi-soft coconut oil
  • 8 drops doTERRA lavender oil
  • 4 drops doTERRA frankincense oil
  • 3 drops doTERRA eucalyptus oil
  • 2 drops doTERRA cilantro oil

Instructions:

  1. Make sure that your mason jar is clean.
  2. In a small bowl mix coconut oil and doTERRA oils together.
  3. Keep in jar for storage.
  4. For use, apply to bottoms of feet or chest before bed to promote a restful nights sleep.

Lavender Pillow Spray

This is going to be the easiest recipe ever, are you ready for it?

Ingredients:

  • Glass spray bottle (I use an old Perrier bottle and a standard spray nozzle)
  • 2 cups of distilled water
  • 10 drops of doTERRA lavender oil

Instructions:

  1. Fill spray bottle with distilled water.
  2. Add 10 drops of doTERRA lavender oil.
  3. Shake well.
  4. Mist onto pillows and bedding before sleep.

Enjoy and have a good night sleep tonight!

See you tomorrow,

Blend of the Day

If you are anything like me you get really bad headaches, especially with all this inconsistent weather we have been having. This is a great one to diffuse to help with headaches. You can also mix this in a roller bottle with some coconut oil and roll on the back of your neck and temples to help relieve tension headaches.

Give it a try today!
